How do I create departments and an org chart?
Go to HR → Departments and click New Department. Give it a name, an optional code, a manager (chosen from your employees), and an optional parent department to make it a sub-department. Save.
Assign employees to a department from the employee form — the department field becomes a dropdown of your structured departments. The department list shows live headcount for each.
To see the whole structure, click Org Chart. It draws a top-down tree of departments, their managers and headcount, connected by lines. Sub-departments nest under their parents.
If you archive a department, its employees are safely unassigned rather than lost.
